no idea. how about stopping HAL to test this? Just with: /etc/init.d/haldaemon stop Will do... Ok, it helped in this case. NOt sure whether this is a general solution... AJ, does this problem still exist? Did you try it again? We got no other reports like this, I also didn't hear anything like this from the other distros... Let's close it for now, I'll investigate further if the problem appears again. |
Burning a dvd9 with growisofs sometimes fails. In those cases I get in /var/log/messages: Sep 14 20:15:24 reger kernel: cdrom: This disc doesn't have any tracks I recogniz e! Sep 14 20:15:40 reger kernel: hdd: irq timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy } Sep 14 20:15:40 reger kernel: ide: failed opcode was: unknown Sep 14 20:15:40 reger kernel: hdd: DMA disabled Sep 14 20:15:40 reger kernel: hdd: ATAPI reset complete And the media is unuasable. Is hal accessing the media and confusing it?
