(In reply to comment #0) > When you try to reboot Suse 10 RC.1 it fails & you get a blank screen on the HP > ZE2113US laptop. There is nothing like "Suse 10". Please use at least the corret product name. Could you, please, try to describe the problem a little bit closer? How did you try to reboot the laptop? What is the last action the laptop did before it died? What was on the screen before it died? Is this problem reproducible? Does it hang everytime you try to reboot? Could you, please, attach /var/log/messages file? Any other additional information? Thanks Reply via mail: =============== Q: Could you, please, try to describe the problem a little bit closer? Q: How did you try to reboot the laptop? A: Yes Q: What is the last action the laptop did before it died? A: It would freeze, either with a green striped black screen or a blank screen. The only way to restart was to disconnect the power and the battery. Q: What was on the screen before it died? A: The shutdown messages from Suse Linux 10 RC.1 Q: Is this problem reproducible? Does it hang everytime you try to reboot? A: Yes Q: Could you, please, attach /var/log/messages file? YaST2 logs
We opened the attachment with the default file roller and when we reboot it now hangs on a light blue screen with faint vertical lines rather than the black screen with green vertical lines. However, we still can't reboot. Note: This only applies to the HP ZE2113US laptop (desktop midtower reboots OK). We will be demonstrating SUSE Linux 10 on this laptop at Raincoast 2005, http://www.raincoast.info , this weekend & had hoped to have this problem fixed or the final product we ordered on 22 Sep 2005, order #106736845, FedEx'd to us before this weekend. |
