Description jo de baer 2005-09-20 15:42:43 UTC
situation after reboot :
I have gotten my ip address via dhcp
smpppd is running
... but kinternet never lists eth0. It does list wlan0 (and wifi0) however when
I plug in my pcmcia wireless card.

This problem is especially annoying when suspending while on wireless and
resuming when the cable is in. Since the user cannot click his way through via
kinternet, he must open a terminal and do "rcnetwork restart" to switch to the
wired network and get an ip address there.

Likely eth0 is not configured as "user controlable". You can find the
switch in YaST2 or look for USERCONTROL in /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth-*.

If the interface is marked as usercontrol please reopen the bug.
