Description Joel Carlson 2005-09-20 20:23:37 UTC
On the HP ZE2113US laptop, we got a "Forcing IBSSGMode 10 to IBSSGMode 12"
message when installing the bcmwl5.inf driver in ndiswrapper. When we checked
the installation (ndiswrapper -l) we got a "bcmwl5 invalid driver!" message.
This needs to be fixed. We did not have this problem with Suse 9.3 on this
laptop & therefore Suse 9.3 wireless works good. /var/log/messages submitted
with Bug 117948.

Does this still happen on SL 10.0 final, too? The logfile shows that ndiswrapper 1.1 is used, final has 1.2.
Comment 2 Joel Carlson 2005-10-17 18:18:41 UTC
We still got the forcing messages in SUSE Linux 10 final but the wireless connection works OK. The previous invalid driver message was probably due to the path we set up for ndiswrapper & that is no longer a problem.

Thanks. I don't know what the "Forcing ..." message means, but it isn't necessarily an error message.
