Agree, but IMHO this is not a blocker. rcgpm has been working this way since a log time and no one complained. I could use some works-in-most-cases default (/dev/input/mice), but I don't consider this "Critical". BTW /etc/sysconfig/mouse is written by YaST, it's not part of the gpm package. This worked fine with 9.3 (This is not so long ago.), I didn't find the bug before, because I need this only sometimes. Btw. this should work out-of-the-box. Maybe reassign to the yast guys? I think the problem is: yast select per default no longer a mouse, but install gpm. Maybe YaST should preselect a mouse while intallation or don't install gpm or you add some default paths to gpm. To select a mouse in yast fix this. As above sad: yast should select by default a mouse or not install gpm Any chance to get this bug fixed? Not by me, it's probably a YaST bug -> changing component to YaST2. This is known. Mouse-configuration for GPM is no longer done automatically -- don't blame me. If you want it back, create an enhancement bug for the component Yast2. Closing this because this is not a bug at all. This bug was marked as a duplicate of bug #114919 Also take a look at bug #116099, which is also related to this. And there are several more. |
