Rodrigo, what happenedto SMEG? I had a look at SMEG (now called Alacarte -> http://www.realistanew.com/category/projects/alacarte/) and gnome-menu-editor in GNOME CVS. Both looked similar, and were not very featureful. I just looked at gnome-menu-editor and it hasn't changed since last time, and Alacarte doesnt run for me right now, but it seems it hasn't changed much neither. I still think it would be better to have this features in the app browser, rather than in a separate application. Alacarte 0.8 (which is used in Ubuntu Dapper) has the ability to hide, add, edit and delete menu entries. Please replace the current menu editor (which is NO menu editor) in SUSE 10.1 RC1 with Alacarte. It is NOT userfriendliy if you have an option for editing the menu - with right click > Edit menu - and you are NOT able to edit the menus in the following dialog... Stanislav, lets pick this up for factory, not SL 10.1 proper, but we'll at least make it available. For Code 10, this is less important with the new menu setup. We'll pick that up for SP1. Alacarte has been in for a while. |
