Description Michael Stather 2005-09-25 12:22:35 UTC
I have an XP machine which sets up a share. When I want to access this share I
can view and copy some files of it to my machine (using the KDE smb:/ ioslave),
but others always fail. I just get the message from KDE "file x can´t be read".
The files are all in the same directory, and the failing files don´t have
special names or something like this.

This would be a bug in the libsmbclient ;(
Comment 2 Lars Müller 2006-03-15 13:09:41 UTC
Is this still valid with the current 10.1 beta?
Comment 3 Michael Stather 2006-03-15 18:22:08 UTC
Exactly this situation not, but another one. I´ve shared my "home" folder with samba. When I acess it from another SuSE computer it works fine in the folder, but when I go to "home/Desktop" I can´t access the directory, I get a dialog asking me about the password.
Comment 4 Lars Müller 2006-05-26 08:47:29 UTC
And your access before is authenticated or anonymous?

Does your Desktop directory have special permissions?

I've tested to access my own Desktop directory shared by Samba on a SUSE Linux 10.1 from a SUSE Linux system also running 10.1 and din't had any issue.

No reaction on this bug for a long time. Closing as CANTFIX.
