Description Alexey Eremenko 2005-09-25 16:35:16 UTC
Unfortunately after making a spreadsheet (pseudo-financial report) in
OpenOffice 2.0 and after saving that as both Excel (.xls), OOo 1 (.sxc) &
OpenDocument (.ods) the KSpread didn't opened the file correctly & corrupted
everything !!!

I see this KOffice's behavior as unacceptable considering the announced full
support of the OpenDocument format. (Also .xls was loaded in KOffice as B&W,
i.e. no colors)

some people on the IRC chat don't understand this bug correctly - so let's make
it clear now:

The document was created in SUSE Linux 10 RC1, using OOo2 BETa2, build 125, and
failed to open in SUSE Linux 10 RC1, using KOffice KSpread 1.4.1 that comes with
the OS.
Comment 5 Lukas Tinkl 2005-09-26 09:49:15 UTC
Although KSpread doesn't load these files correctly, it definitely doesn't
corrupt them here. What format (of those three) did you try to open in
KSpread?
Comment 6 Lukas Tinkl 2005-09-26 10:12:01 UTC
Ah, I misunderstood the word "corruption"; I thought you were talking about
destroying the file... which doesn't happen. The functionality in KSpread is
simply missing and therefore the bug is not major
Comment 7 Alexey Eremenko 2005-09-26 15:29:38 UTC
I tried to open in all 3 formats - no format worked as expected.
But opening as OpenDocument in KOffice had corrupted the output to display (not
the file itself).
Comment 8 Lukas Tinkl 2005-10-19 10:03:51 UTC
KOffice 1.4.2 contains improved compatibility with the OOo fileformat, we will include it in SL 10.1
