In Preferences -> Advanced -> Tabbed Browsing, I have "Open links from other
applications in:" set to "a new window". However, fairly often, when I click on
a link in another application, or type "firefox [URL]" on the command line, it
opens the URL in the current tab of an existing window instead.

shouldn't happen with Firefox 1.5 in STABLE
