Start configure-thinkpad. 
You will see a pop-up window stating 
 
"Neither /dev/thinkpad/thinkpad nor /dev/thinkpad exists. Please create the 
device." 
 
/usr/share/docs/packages/configure-thinkpad was not helpful. 
 
PS: You need a Thinkpad for testing it.

configure-thinkpad has no useful purpose anyway, so this is not major.

i think this is fixed in 10.1

there is no configure-thinpad anymore.
