Description Matthias Hopf 2005-09-30 12:43:09 UTC
In bug #115372 I had one machine that wouldn't boot after installation. It
turned out, that I accidentially mounted the root filesystem with the user flag
(changing volume label: Alt+M, switching user flag: Alt+N in fstab options).

For the root filesystem (and /usr and /opt) using this flag would result in a
non-bootable (or at least heftily crypled) installation. So would 'do not mount
at system startup' for /usr, and mounting read-only for /var or /tmp.

I suggest disabling these options in the configuration dialog.

Matthias, can you please add the yast logs (complete /var/log/YaST2) if you
still have it?
Comment 2 Thomas Fehr 2005-10-04 09:33:12 UTC
I added a warning if fomeone tries to set "user" for a system realted mount
point.

No, don't have it any more. Though I could start another installation if this
helps you (as it is easily reproducable).

Thanks!

No need for the logs any more, could reproduce it here.
