does "xlsclients" work ? Are you using kdm? Does this happen if you upgrade gnome-screensaver to the latest (0.0.13)? I'm using kdm, logging into a gnome session. xlsclients lists gnome-screensaver, but gnome-screensaver-command --query states that it's not running. Also, I'm running the latest gnome-screensaver that I have access to (0.0.11-3) - 0.0.13 isn't available to RC1 (it's not listed in YOU). This is fixed in latest gnome-screensaver, so you'll have to update from RC1 to have it fixed. Reopen if it still happens after updating. About the gnome-screensaver-command --query output, what does it show exactly? where is the latest gnome-screensaver, if not in YOU? sh-3.00$ gnome-screensaver-command --query ** Message: Screensaver is not running! sh-3.00$ ps axf | grep gnome-screensaver 6206 ? S 0:00 gnome-screensaver 6311 pts/0 S+ 0:00 \_ grep gnome-screensaver It is in RC4, gnome-screensaver-0.0.13-2 How can I get access to RC4? Why isn't it publicly available? It's on opensuse.org No, 10.0 RC1 and 10.1 Alpha 1 are available, according to http://www.opensuse.org/Download. Is there somewhere else with newer releases? Alpha 1 is newer than RC4 But Alpha 1 is 10.1 - I was filing a bug against 10.0 - when 10.0 is released, what version will it contain? are you saying that 10.0 final will include 10.1 code? if so , what is the differentiation betweeen the two? yeah, sorry, you don't want alpha 1. You want RC4, but I don't know where is that available :( It should be up now. |
