Description Dirk Gorissen 2005-10-01 09:53:09 UTC
My network had SSID broadcast disabled, KInternet shows this as "<hidden>" in
the ESSID/Name column. However when clicking connect Kinternet will try to
connect to the network named "<hidden>". Which of course fails... Running
iwconfig confirms this. This is not correct, KInternet should prompt me for
the real SSID name.
Cheers
Dirk

PS: using Open Suse 9.1 RC 1 using kinternet-0.72-3, HW: Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo
M1425 centrino laptop

what mean you use Open Suse 9.1 RC 1? There isn't such a product. If this is a
bug for a product older than SUSE Linux 10.0 close the bug as invalid!

I guess you mean openSUSE 10.0. And yes, there is currently no support for hidden ESSIDs in kinternet. Hopefully we will have a solution for this in 10.1 (may it be NetworkManager or something else).

We now have NetworkManager, so I close this bug now. If the problem still exists with NetworkManager I would ask you to create a new bugreport, thanks.

Because the LATER and REMIND resolutions have been removed, the resolution of this bug has changed from LATER to WONTFIX. If this bug needs to be reconsidered, reopen it and set a future "Target Milestone for Fix."
