Another reflection - If we include fprintd, one could argue to also include support for smart cards, and maybe even support YubiKeys out of the box. I'm not proposing we do this, just that someone might reference this if implemented. @dopice Most of laptops include a fingerprint reader now, from my user point of view, it's weird to not permit us to uses it. It's like the Camera, it's not always required, but Aeon include the necessary packages to support it out of the box. Smart card & Yubikeys are rarely sell with the laptop/computer, it's an important distinction I think. If the final decision is to not add fprintd packages, may be a Guide documentation could be added to explain how to install them manually, so this will works correctly like most of the others GNU/Linux distributions? I want to support as fingerprint readers, card readers, and yubikeys out of the box When it comes to YubiKeys, do we only support using them out of the box or do we also want to include the configuration utility? More exactly yubikey-manager (command line) and yubikey-manager-qt (gui)? addressed in patterns-aeon |
