Description Henning Lorch 2023-06-12 17:23:59 UTC
There is a usability issue with Okular when annotating Pdf's. Inserting an inline note will lead to huge file size increases, I have seen increases from 10 to 90 MB. Additionally, typing will get extremely slow with an increasing number of annotations.

It seems the bug has already been filed to KDE: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=469829 - In the comment section, it is suggested to try out libpoppler 23.06.

My versions are:
Okular Version 23.04.1
KDE Frameworks Version 5.106.0
Qt Version 5.15.9 (built against 5.15.9)
libpoppler128: 23.05.0-1.1

How to reproduce:
1. take or create any pdf file
2. open with okular
3. insert an inline note and save the file
4. insert more inline notes and save respectively, and watch the file size increase
