Since update to kernel 6.3.7-1-default vdr is not working and not accessible.
Exactly same problem as described in
https://www.vdr-portal.de/forum/index.php?thread/135659-vdr-startet-nicht-vollst%C3%A4ndig-mit-gentoo-kernel-6-3-7/

no log with failure. restart of vdr-process not possible (hanging).

Workaround:
Starting prior Kernel 6.3.6-1-default
Comment 1 Takashi Iwai 2023-06-16 14:12:05 UTC
The upstream reverted a problematic patch for dvb-core:
ec21a38df77a5aefbd2f70c48127003b6f259cf3
Revert "media: dvb-core: Fix use-after-free on race condition at dvb_frontend"

I push the fix to stable branch.

A test kernel is being built in OBS home:tiwai:bsc1212439 repo. Could you test with it later, once after the build finishes (takes an hour or so).

kernel 6.3.8-1-g4dead9b-default solved the problem.
vdr runs again. no hanging. restart possible.
Thanks

Good to hear.

You can keep my test kernel until the revert patch is merged to stable TW kernel.
