Description roke beedell 2023-10-07 17:12:22 UTC
Per https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE%3AFactory/kio_audiocd#comment-1828329, locating the `kio_audiocd` package with `zypper` is difficult due to its naming contrasting its `kio-*` counterparts. I believe that this should be rectified by renaming `kio_audiocd` to `kio-audiocd`.

Per https://discuss.kde.org/t/kio-packages-named-inconsistently/5598/4?u=rokejulianlockhart, other prominent distributions use the more consistent upstream moniker:

*   https://packages.debian.org/sid/kde/kio-audiocd
*   https://packages.ubuntu.com/jammy/kio-audiocd

A basic search shows that there are more kio packages with an underline:

kio_audiocd
kio_audiocd-devel
kio_audiocd-lang
kio_iso
kio_kamera
kio_perldoc
kio_perldoc-lang

I'd like to expand the scope of the bug to encompass all of those too, then. Apologies for not checking beforehand.

Although an underscore is a more normal naming convention, upstream appears to use hyphens, so I believe that we should replicate that in the interest of reducing unnecessary inconsistency between upstream versus downstream and other distributions.

We discussed about it, we won't rename the existing packages.
