Description Brian Rackliffe 2023-10-31 17:44:02 UTC
ATTRIBUTE, VALUES, DESCRIPTION:

https://documentation.suse.com/sles/15-SP5/single-html/SLES-autoyast/#id-1.7.5.2.35.3.10

The "user_password" section has the following text:

> With encrypted passwords disabled, if you enter an exclamation mark (!), a random password will be generated.

But that is not correct. Random passwords are not generated. We discussed this issue in a bug: https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1215215

The recommendation is to remove the quoted line above from our documentation.

The same line exists in the documentation for all our our currently supported versions of SLES, and it should be removed from each, as none of them generate random passwords:

Let me know if anything further is needed.

Thanks!

Oops, thanks for the correction. I had the other bug up in a separate tab and didn't realize I copied the wrong one.
