Description Daniel Secareanu 2005-10-07 19:24:47 UTC
If internet connection check fails at install time, the icon is still an OK
mark. This should be replaced with a NO ACCESS/FAILURE mark, since it is
confusing. If I am not around the computer when it does this and I only see the
checkmark there (someone maybe pressed space by mistake or smth and the error
window dissapeared), I will be left with the impression that something is wrong
because the internet connection check worked or so I presume, but all the other
three checks weren't even started...

Can you please attach the /var/log/YaST2 directory (as a tar file)

Ehm... there is no chance to fix this for 10.0, could you test with 10.1 if the bug is still there?
Comment 4 Daniel Secareanu 2006-06-06 08:23:21 UTC
Doing now an internet installation on a pc and will check if this still appears...
(though if it's an internet installation :) the internet check should not fail...)
Comment 5 Daniel Secareanu 2006-06-06 11:48:41 UTC
It worked alright... but then most probably because there was already an internet connection due to the fact I did an internet based installation... maybe you can try to reproduce this with a local installation and with no internet connection and check if it shows or not...
Comment 6 Michal Zugec 2006-07-25 15:55:50 UTC
It seems to be ok (your report - logs).
Could you reproduce it also on local installation?
Your report was from local installation?
Comment 7 Daniel Secareanu 2006-07-27 07:27:59 UTC
The initial report was from a local installation... the second one was from an internet based installation. Unfortunately I don't have the possibility to try now another local installation cause I've put the machine in production...
Comment 8 Katarina Machalkova 2007-02-13 16:30:54 UTC
Now it is clearly distinguished whether particular step of Internet test failed ('!' mark) or succeeded ('x' mark in ncurses, CheckMark glyph - U+2714 character - in Qt)
Fix will be included in yast2-network 2.15.5
