Description Dr. Martin P.J. Zinser 2023-12-28 17:48:44 UTC
Hypervisor system is x86_64 openSUSE 15.5 and the latest virtualbox packages:

virtualbox-kmp-default-7.0.12_k5.14.21_150500.55.31-lp155.2.13.1.x86_64
virtualbox-7.0.12-lp155.2.13.1.x86_64
virtualbox-qt-7.0.12-lp155.2.13.1.x86_64
virtualbox-host-source-7.0.12-lp155.2.13.1.noarch

Installed a new VM with the latest Tumbleweed version including KDE DE.

System hangs when starting KDE, checking in the console the following message can be found:
vmwyfx 0000:00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR* vmwyfx seems to be running on an unsupported hypervisor.
This configuratiion is likely broken.
Please switch to a supported graphics device to avoid problems

The description is correct as far as it goes. But are there any plans to fix this? Purely guessing here from the error message it looks related to Wayland support.

Same hypervisor/virtualbox combo works without problems with openSUSE 15.5.
