Description Klaus Singvogel 2024-02-17 10:50:30 UTC
After upgrade from 15.4 to 15.5 "lynx -dump" stops output of lines, when a Bold-Tag <b> is used.

I saw this on several web-pages, and if it happens is related to the width of the terminal.

Example URLs:
https://shop.shiftphones.com/shift6mq.html

  lynx -width=80 -dump https://shop.shiftphones.com/shift6mq.html
--> Search for "SHIFT-Bumper und Panzerglas" and I see a single "J" in next line

Change width to 132 and I see that it cuts at different position.
  lynx -width=132 -dump 'https://shop.shiftphones.com/shift6mq.html'

Use URL:
  lynx -width=80 -dump -nolist https://heibi-living.de/de/holzkohlegrill/108-grill-schwarz-fahrbar.html
--> Search for "personenbezogenen Daten" and see the single "v" and missing text after the "v".

I updated my system from 15.1. to 15.2 to 15.3 to 15.4. to 15.5 with "zypper dup", and I think this is related. I doubt the culprit is "lynx", instead I had the feeling, that it is the Upgrade.

For sake of completeness: I did a reboot after Upgrade.

Installed Version: lynx-2.9.0~dev.10-bp155.1.10.x86_64

This issue seems to be fixed in 2.9.0.

What is this feeling based on, exactly?
Comment 2 Petr Gajdos 2024-02-19 13:29:52 UTC
I can confirm it was fixed between 2.9.0dev.10 and 2.9.0. Will submit a version update against b15sp5.
