This is a simple setting error on your side. You need to adjust the setting in network manager if you want to connect to unencrypted networks. It is recommended to only adjust it for the relevant network. The standard setting in network manager is to use encryption. Simply click on the small down arrow next to the WLAN name and enter the settings⦠This is not a setting i deliberately made. This is a fresh Leap 15.5 installation and i would consider this behaviour irritating. Lot's of public WLAN's are unecrypted and with this default unusable and requires manual configuration. The standard in the 21st century are encrypted networks. This is a common safe standard. That is why it is setup like this in a fresh install. If you need to connect to unsafe networks, you need to alter the standard safe settings and be aware of the risks⦠let's close this report and adhere to the modern standards. tyvm! |
Created attachment 873357 [details] screenshot With KDE networkmanager i am unable to connect to a unencrypted WLAN, see screenshot. Connection to a encrypted WLAN works as expected. Running Leap 15.5 with "Intel Corporation Wireless 8265 / 8275 (rev 78)"
