Hardware requirements also play a role in virtual deployment, e.g. the SL Micro 6 qcow image requires 32 GB of disk space:

image: SL-Micro.x86_64-6.0-Default-qcow-RC.qcow2
file format: qcow2
virtual size: 32 GiB (34359738368 bytes)
disk size: 1.21 GiB

If the disk is smaller the system will be broken. Some hypervisors read the value from the image and do it automatically, Harvester as an example wouldn't.
