Description SMASH SMASH 2024-05-02 10:20:14 UTC
It was not checked whether the magic number in the attest is equal to TPM2_GENERATED_VALUE. So an attacker could generate arbitrary quote data which was not detected by tpm2 checkquote.

Comment 5 Matthias Gerstner 2024-05-03 13:36:30 UTC
So SLE-12 is generally not affected by this, since it doesn't contain the
tpm2_checkquote command yet.

Affected are the following though (I did not check LTSS):

- SUSE:SLE-15-SP4:Update/tpm2.0-tools
- SUSE:SLE-15-SP6:Update/tpm2.0-tools
- SUSE:ALP:Source:Standard:1.0/tpm2.0-tools
- openSUSE:Factory/tpm2.0-tools

I bumped the version in Factory to address this. I want to submit the Factory
package directly to ALP once it has been accepted.

The two SLE-15 submissions are already out.
