with sddm and lightdm I can select on login all the sessions included in
/usr/share/xsessions and /usr/share/wayland-sessions.
With gdm all the X sessions are present and plasma wayland too, but all
the gnome wayland sessions are missing.

Checking here, the GDM selection menu gives me:

Gnome
Gnome Classic
Gnome Classic on Xorg
Gnome on Xorg
IceWM Session
Plasma (X11)
Plasma (Wayland)

The first two of those are actually using Wayland, even though it does not mention "Wayland" in the menu item.
