In the Advanced Power Settings, one may now limit the battery charge limit in order to extend its lifetime. The default value is charge up to 100%; this can be changed to any lower value, and the root password is required. The charging is then indeed limited to that value. However, after a reboot, the field goes back to the default value. I strongly suspect this setting should be persistent instead, until the next manual modification.
