Description Pavel Urusov 2024-06-03 16:56:38 UTC
The version of Gamescope currently available in the Tumbleweed repositories always crashes on systems with AMD Polaris GPUs (RX 4x0/5x0 families): https://github.com/ValveSoftware/gamescope/issues/1218

The fix has already been upstreamed, please consider downgrading the package to version 3.14.2 until Valve releases a new version which incorporates the fixes.

Thanks

Hi and thank you

Unfortunately, the version from you linked still fails with the same error message, and the --backend option is also not available in this version.

I guess I will have to wait until gamescope in TW repositories is updated to 3.14.18.

Ah. I considered only the first commit. Added the second now as well. Please try again.
Comment 4 Dirk Stoecker 2024-06-05 19:06:32 UTC
Ah. The patch is contained in 3.14.18. Couldn't you have said that first? Updated now.
Comment 5 Pavel Urusov 2024-06-05 21:44:06 UTC
Sorry for that. Yes, I can confirm that the latest package you linked works perfectly if I run it with --backend=sdl.

Thank you.
