Description Aaron Williams 2024-07-06 23:21:21 UTC
My recent computer is not properly supported since it has an nct6798 temperature sensor, which is supported by 3.6.0. 3.6.0 has been out for over five years, so it seems about time to upgrade lm_sensors from 3.5.0 to 3.6.0.

I get constant warnings due to this.

Thanks.

Updated summary to relate to the problem, not the requested solution.
Assigning to maintainer of SUSE:SLE-15:Update/sensors
Comment 2 Aaron Williams 2024-07-07 05:02:47 UTC
I think the problem is that the configuration for my motherboard is incorrect. It's recognizing the part.

Looking at all of the diffs between libsensor4 and libsensor5, I don't know why they changed 4 to 5 since I don't see any compatibility issues. Sadly, it also looks like the main lm-sensors repository hasn't been maintained in years.

This can likely be closed.
