I rebooted into tumbleweed 20240704, it doesn't happen there. So it appears to be caused by something after in 20240704, something in 20240714. In the boot of 20240704 only the OS is reverted, not /home, so the issue is unlikely to be caused by a change in config files under /home. I can no longer reproduce this issue. It was happening in 20240716 this morning. While investigating further I logged in and out several times. On the latest and subsequent logins restoring kmail from the tray is behaving properly. I suspect something in my saved session-state was corrupted and somehow one of the logins cleared it (perhaps a login without kmail being restored). I'm occasionally seeing plasma-6 fall over on login, possibly that was the original cause, perhaps causing session-state to become corrupt. In which case the issue may reoccur because plasma-6 is still occasionally erroring on login, but at least things are back to normal now. |
