Description Pavel Urusov 2024-07-25 15:56:25 UTC
SUMMARY:

In the default configuration shipped by openSUSE Tumbleweed, xournalpp is misconfigured. If the user clicks on the "Add TeX" button, the application displays the following error:
"Global template file is not a regular file. Please check your settings."

REPRO STEPS:

1. Install xournalpp (sudo zypper in xournalpp)
2. Launch xournalpp
3. Click the "Add TeX" button (which looks like the Greek letter sigma)

OBSERVED RESULT:

The application displays the following error message:
"Global template file is not a regular file. Please check your settings."

EXPECTED RESULT:

Xournalpp opens the built-in TeX editor.

SUGGESTIONS:
The default configuration should correctly point to the default LaTeX template which is installed to /usr/share/xournalpp/resources/default_template.tex

As things stand, the user is forced to go to the settings and manually select the default_template.tex file, which is not obvious.
