Description Qingjia Zhu 2005-10-11 13:11:42 UTC
SUSE OSS 10.0 final.
1) Open Control Center. KMenu -> Control Center (kcontrol -caption "%c" %i %m).
please don't wrongly open 'Control Center (YaST)' (/sbin/yast2), this bug
does not happen to the latter.
2) click 'YaST2 Modules'
3) click 'Software'
4) click 'Software Management'
5) click 'Administration Mode', input root password as promoted
6) make sure that filter is 'Search'
7) under 'Search:' there is a text box, try to type something into it, you'll
find the text box doesn't accept any key input although there's a cursor
blicking in it(that means the text box has the focus)
8) this bug does not happen if you go to 'Software Management' directly from
'Control Center(Yast)' (/sbin/yast2)

This is an ancient problem of the KDE embedding we are using. Sorry, all our
assembled specialists could not find a solution to that problem. Every now and
then this happens.

Workaround: Use the YaST2 control center to launch that YaST2 module rather than
starting it via the KDE control center.

Sorry.
