Description Stefan Brüns 2005-10-12 21:40:22 UTC
See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=138148 for detailed
description of this bug.

With 10.0, the blacklist entry for the HL-DT-ST cdrom
in /usr/share/hal/fdi/preprobe/10osvendor/10-ide-drives.fdi is no longer
needed. After commenting out the entry, disk performance (measure with hdparm
-t) stays the same, and cdrom does spin down.
Comment 1 Danny Al-Gaaf 2005-10-18 12:07:52 UTC
was this the same string (storage.model="HL-DT-STCD-RW/DVD-ROM GCC-4240N") for the device?
Comment 2 Danny Al-Gaaf 2005-10-18 12:16:22 UTC
Could you please add the output of lshal to be sure that this is fixed?
Comment 3 Danny Al-Gaaf 2005-10-19 13:00:20 UTC
submitted patch upstream and integrated the diff in new package for SUSE Linux 10.1 (next Alpha).

@Stefan: could you please provide as asked in #2 the output of lshal from your machine?!
