Description Juergen Mell 2005-10-13 11:01:31 UTC
For my ASUS M2400N notebook I need the additional parameter 'buggy_semaphore'
for the snd-intel8x0 kernel module. YaST does not allow to enter this parameter.
Perhaps it would be a much better idea to allow the user to enter *any*
additional parameter (just a free-text input line which is appended to the
module options) and just display a help text in YaST where to find some
description for the possible parameters. Otherwise you must always keep YaST in
sync with module development. The help message to leave all parameters at their
default value is not really helpful, if the card does not work with the defaults...

Looks like an enhancement to me ;)
Comment 2 Ladislav Slezák 2005-10-13 13:23:32 UTC
I think it's rather real bug because it prevents setting the module option (the
option is not displayed at all).

I have changed the dialog layout, now it contains usual Add/Edit/Delete buttons and you can add extra options. Beside that the sound card database has been updated.

Fixed in yast2-sound-2.13.12
