i have a nvidia ck804 soundchipset.  
  
i am not able to play any sound.  
  
- all mixer settings seem ok, all is enabled  
- realplay reports that it plays, but no sound appears  
- ogg123 same

actually it was my fault and hardware related.

if the front audio is not connected on the motherboard on this MSI board
you need to set 2 jumpers on the motherboard. These 2 jumpers were missing
(my hardware vendor forgot them to set). 

After setting them, sound works fine.

*sigh*
