Description Petr Hadraba 2005-10-22 10:40:14 UTC
Hi, I have found these packages are missing in the distribution:
 - freetds
 - gdam

FreeTDS: (http://www.freetds.org)
---------------------------------
FreeTDS is good solution to connect to SyBase and Microsoft databases. Directly,
SyBase Adaptive Server Enterprise and Microsoft SQL Server. I'm using this
package to connect from PHP to SyBase ASE 12.5. I found this solution is stable
and faster then oribinal SyBase Client. Also, I didn't find any other solution
to connect to Microsoft servers. The difference between Microsoft servers and
SyBase is only in some bits because of ODBC Drivers compatibility break.
I found this package missing in SUSE Linux distribution.

gdam (http://www.gdam.org)
--------------------------
This package was bundled with SuSE Linux 7.3 I think and then this software was
away. I found this software good for entertainment. Some users can find this
package good;-)

Thank you for your time!
