Please, install package yast2-hardware-detection. Unfortunately it not installed by default in alpha2... It's has been fixed for the next release. Now the window opens, saying that the configuration module is being started, and that I should please wait. However, nothing more happens. It seems that it probably hangs in the DMA mode detection. Please, _attach_ y2log, it's harder to read it and the reports gets too long if it's in the comment... (See http://www.opensuse.org/Bug_Reporting_FAQ#YaST for more information.) For some reason, it works now (without having updated to a new Suse version). Maybe this is related to Bug 130186, which says that my CD drive was no longer detected on startup. The option MODULES_LOADED_ON_BOOT="ide-cd" in /etc/sysconfig/kernel fixed that problem. Perhaps it also fixed this one. OK, resolved as FIXED |
