Can you please attach the output of hwinfo and /var/log/YaST2 directory (as a tar file)? Please take a look at http://www.opensuse.org/Bug_Reporting_FAQ#YaST if you have any problems. I'd need the log from 'hwinfo --sound --log=xxx'. Please, install package yast2-hardware-detection, it might be missing in your installation. It should solve the problem with card detection. (It seems that there is an dependecy problem in aplha2 regarding to yast2-hardware-detection package.) Then try to configure the sound card again and report the result here.
