Description Thomas Hofstetter 2005-10-27 12:56:36 UTC
If I inject a DVD in my dvd-drive, I can't open it. Only if I type
"mount /dev/dvd" I can open it. And in "my computer" there is no chance to achieve the dvd.
Comment 1 Michael Gross 2005-10-27 13:23:51 UTC
Please attach 500 lines of your syslog (/var/log/messages) and the output of `hwinfo --ide''. You might read: http://www.opensuse.org/Submit_a_Bug
Comment 2 Michael Gross 2005-10-27 13:58:42 UTC
And please always choose the right product and component! I'll set this to SUSE Linux 10.0. If you're using another version, please correct this accordingly.
Comment 3 Danny Al-Gaaf 2005-11-02 11:12:50 UTC
@Thomas: forget the requested information from comment #1. Could you insert the DVD in the drivhe and attach the output of 'lshal' and 'cat /proc/mounts' to this bug (as attachment).

output of lshal
Comment 5 Danny Al-Gaaf 2005-11-03 20:32:06 UTC
the output is incomplete. Please try 'lshal > /tmp/lshal_log' and attach the file /tmp/lshal_log to the bug

Comment 8 Danny Al-Gaaf 2005-11-03 20:47:49 UTC
@kay: IMO same problem as everytime ;) , not detected filesystem. Maybe a dup of 130210 or 104355.
Comment 9 Thomas Hofstetter 2005-11-03 20:57:41 UTC
Sorry, but what do you mean with "dup of 130210 or 104355"? I'm a silly beginner.
Comment 10 Danny Al-Gaaf 2005-11-03 21:10:43 UTC
This mean a duplicate of bug #130210 or #104355
Comment 11 Thomas Hofstetter 2005-11-03 21:13:07 UTC
thank you
Comment 12 Kay Sievers 2005-11-04 20:55:30 UTC
I've committed a possible fix to upstream HAL CVS. Next package will show if
we can work around broken drive firmware that way.
Comment 13 Kay Sievers 2005-11-08 15:22:21 UTC
Please try the HAL version from the suse "edge" tree, we have a new package there
which is expected to fix this problem.
Comment 14 Thomas Hofstetter 2005-11-09 20:01:39 UTC
Now it works, thanks a lot.
Comment 15 Danny Al-Gaaf 2005-11-09 20:11:55 UTC
