Description Theo van den Bout 2005-11-01 10:33:47 UTC
For test purposes we use the 'fobo.local' domain.
It turns out that while on this domain we canNOT ping any
of the other hosts within the some domain.
( pinging things like 'yahoo.com' is OK )

The problem only occurs on the 'fobo.local' domain. We tried several
other installations of SuSE 10.0 on different networks, all without problems.

When using 'strace', it looks like the 'GETHOSTBYNAME' sys call doesn't return
anything useful.

.local is a reserved domain for MDNS. If you don't use that, use another domain for testing.
