Description Joerg Gerschuetz 2005-11-02 06:48:49 UTC
My Archos MiniCD - attached via PCMCIA-Card - ist not recognized during the installation process (SUSE 10.1 alpha 2) although it is on the PCMCIA compatibility list. Since it is the only CD drive the installation aborts having no installation medium.

Please check.

Please, attach hwinfo output (switch to the 2nd console during installation, see http://www.opensuse.org/Bug_Reporting_FAQ#YaST).

Comment 6 Joerg Gerschuetz 2005-11-03 06:06:08 UTC
The installation aborts with an error message "Could not find the SUSE Linux Installation CD. Activating manual setup program".
At this stage of installation hwinfo is not available ("hwinfo: command not found"). I didn´t find it anywhere in the rudimentary system. But I managed to get various logfiles (see the attachments) - hope they help.

Kind regards,
Joerg Gerschuetz

Thank you for the logs, but we still need 'hwinfo' output to see what HW was detected...

What module would you need? Please go to load modules -> pcmcia and
load the module manually (if it is there). Does that get you any further?
