Description chuck frain 2005-11-02 18:05:10 UTC
After upgrading from Suse 9.3 to 10.0, I'm having a problem with my mouse
not resyncing after switching on the KVM from one machine to the other.

With the 9.3 install (and live CD) what happens is that after switching
back I move the mouse just a bit and it acts erraticly at first, but I stop
and give it about two seconds and it's okay. But with the 10.0 upgrade the
only way to resync the mouse is to reboot, unless I pass the option of
'psmouse.proto=bare' at boot time. Passing that option I can switch on the
KVM without issue. However the problem with that 'fix' is that the wheel
does not work. I've tried exps, imps, imps2 and one or two others that I
found as options to the psmouse.proto command without success. Also I have tried the 'Ctrl-Alt-Fx' and then back with 'Alt-F7' and that does not fix the mouse either.

Now if I boot from the 9.3 live cd, the mouse works as previously
described even now. I've checked the build options of the kernel for mouse
and ps options and did not find any differences. The mouse is a MS USB
wireless using a ps2 adaptor at the switch. The switch itself is a Belkin brand.

Stefan: Is this something for you? Sounds like a problem with the X-Server. If not, just assign it back to us.

Could you add the X.Org config and logfile? Thanks.
