Description Bryce Nesbitt 2005-11-08 16:46:42 UTC
The xine description, and the image shown when xine starts up,
direct the user to check at http://www.suse.de/en/private/products/suse_linux/i386/multimedia.html
for more information.

That URL does not work.

I am frustrated because I've spent sevearl hours now trying to play a simple Quicktime and/or MPG movie. They won't work with SUSE .... even my old RedHat 7.3 did better.
Comment 1 Matthias Hopf 2006-01-27 16:14:10 UTC
This only worked with RedHat 7.3, because they didn't care about the legal issues involved here. In fact they were lucky that nothing happened. Quicktime and MPEG2 won't play on windows without third party software either.

Adrian, do you know where this web page moved to during the Novell web site merger? I cannot find it any longer.
Comment 2 Matthias Hopf 2006-03-03 15:38:56 UTC
Added to xine web page (mostly empty ATM):

http://en.opensuse.org/XINE#Legal_Matters

Next xine release will have the updated MRL.

Commited to STABLE.
