Description Michael Lanczak 2005-11-08 20:18:15 UTC
It's a pitty, but Linux 10.0 recognizes the soundcard 'ASUSTek 82801 FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6-family)', High Definition Audio Controller, driver 'snd-hda-intel', but there is no driver for working with LINUX! So is LINUX mute!
Comment 1 Takashi Iwai 2005-11-18 19:39:57 UTC
Yes, it's a pity.

Try to pass "model=asus" module option for snd-hda-intel driver by editting /etc/modprobe.d/sound file. If it doesn't work, try different values found in /usr/src/linux/Documentation/sounds/alsa/ALSA-Configuration.txt.

If you change the connection of the sound-boxes to another connection of the soundcard, you get sound by LINUX!
Peculiar is the fact, that you have another connection by the operating system 'Windows' from Microsoft as the connection by the operating system 'Suse-Linux'!
