Description Timo Hoenig 2005-11-11 13:53:56 UTC
Installing EDGE fails in graphical mode after the package selection is completed. The upcoming logs cover a installation which bailed out after the package selection in graphical mode. I was able to install afterwards using text mode (no reboot in between).

cc'ing Andreas as requested.
Comment 3 Timo Hoenig 2005-11-11 14:04:38 UTC
Seems that the graphical vs. text mode choice does not influnce the behavoiur but the actual selection of packages.

I gave it another shot choosing KDE only (and ignored all dependency issues as before). This time the installation worked using the graphical mode.

cc'ing Michael as we spoke about this earlier.
Comment 5 Michael Gross 2005-11-11 16:02:03 UTC
Reassigning it to Jiri.
Comment 6 Michael Andres 2005-11-16 10:12:50 UTC
I don't get much hint from the log. It simply ends in the middle of package commit. There's nothing special about this installation and no obvious errors.

Timo: May it be the machine ran out of memeory?
Comment 7 Timo Hoenig 2005-11-16 10:18:12 UTC
Well, it has 256M. I'll leave this on NEEDINFO and get back once I'm giving EDGE another run. Once I do so, I'll focus on this bug at installation time.

Never saw this happening again.

Closing as fixed.
