Description Oliver Ingram 2005-11-12 04:48:20 UTC
YaST installs and configures usb speakers. When tested in YaST it works correctly. However when you return to Desktop, it does not work at all.

You don't have to set up USB audio via yast at all.

Let me rephrase. USB-audio device shoud work as a hotplug device. That is, just plug in and it'll appear as a usable device like USB storage, etc.
Configuring with yast will set up some static hwcfg file and change the permissions, and this may break something which is working with hotplug.

Simply try to reconnect the USB device. If it still doesn't work, start yast and _remove_ the corresponding USB device setup, then quit yast. Then, again reconnect USB device.

If the procedure above doesn't help, please elaborate what error you get by how.
