Description Tazio Ceri 2005-11-19 00:22:01 UTC
When I mount smbfs share via smb4k (I use the suser-guru rpm) with Unicode activated I see that files' name on the mounted share are completely wrong. It's not the charset, they just does not have anything to do with the real share content.
I have tried with many samba server (debian sarge, gentoo, suse), with the same result.
Comment 1 Olaf Kirch 2005-11-21 08:45:42 UTC
Lars, can you have a look please of what may go wrong here, and help
diagnose? I'm not familiar enough with samba.
Comment 2 Lars Müller 2006-06-09 12:52:48 UTC
Could you please try to use cifs instead of smbfs?

smbfs is no longer maintained while cifs is.

A share containing unicode filenames mounted with cifs works well.
Comment 3 Lars Müller 2006-06-09 12:53:50 UTC
As this works with cifs I adjust the severity to minor.
Comment 4 Matej Horvath 2007-02-16 14:19:16 UTC
No reaction on this bug for a long time. Closing as CANTFIX.
Comment 5 Lars Müller 2007-10-08 15:26:41 UTC
Wontfix is right as smbfs got removed from the SUSE kernel.

Please use cifs instead.
