Description Alexander Lavrinenko 2005-11-21 13:37:25 UTC
Hello,

Prior to update my OpenSuSE system from A2 to A2+ I had my wireless network working (ipw2200 Sonoma/Centrino laptop). After software update kernel was also updated from 2.6.13-default to 2.6.14-default, and after reboot wi-fi stopped working. /var/log/messages says:
Nov 17 23:39:19 barracuda kernel: ipw2200: Unknown parameter `hwcrypto'
I use WEP Open (not Shared) key with my D-Link DI-614+ AP (802.11b) together with statically assigned IPs (192.168.1.x).

Joachim, can you take a look at this please? Thanks!
Comment 2 Joachim Gleissner 2005-11-21 13:50:05 UTC
Kernel 2.6.14 has an older ipw2200 version that does not understand the hwcrypto option. Please remove /etc/modprobe.d/ipw2200 or comment out its content. Is fixed in Alpha3.
