Description Alexander Usov 2005-11-29 10:10:11 UTC
libakode package of kde 3.5 (as found in supplementary/KDE) lacks a dependence on mad and as a result one can't play mp3 via the akode framework.

As a solution a build-time dependence on mad and mad-devel should be added to
libakode srpm and an additional package libakode-mad (containing %_libdir/libakode_mpeg_decoder.so*) should be created, as it was done for kdemultimedia.

this is no technical issue

I realize that this bug sounds similar to one above, but the solution I propose (splitting package) is the same as what has been already done with kdemultimedia package. So it's not very clear to me why in a case of kdemultimedia suse-provided srpm's do have "-mad" versions (at least they are present in srpm, so one could simply grab a package and rebuild it), and it couldn't be done to the libakode.

In a moment I will attach a modified spec-file, which
has all of the changes in it.
