with current STABLE, ifplugd' devices (eth0) don't start automatically anymore during boot.

this probably has nothing to do with ifplugd (the daemon) but with the whole NetworkMangler/ifup fight, so it's not my bug.
Comment 2 Christian Zoz 2005-11-30 10:55:46 UTC
Please specify product version. Is it Alpha 3? If yes, then either set STARTMODE=managed in ifcfg-* or disable NetworkManager.

Please confirm.
Comment 3 Dirk Mueller 2005-12-09 17:01:42 UTC
I use STARTMODE='ifplugd', I don't want to set STARTMODE=managed (unless managed does the same as ifplugd nowadays?)

I don't have anything like networkmanager installed or even running.

please attach your config files, so Christian can check if they are correct.
Comment 5 Dirk Mueller 2005-12-09 17:29:26 UTC
the ifcfg-eth-id-00:11:25:2b:cc:53 is:

BOOTPROTO='dhcp'
MTU=''
REMOTE_IPADDR=''
STARTMODE='ifplugd'
UNIQUE='GA8e.tqwo9I3YIvF'
USERCONTROL='no'
BROADCAST=''
IFPLUGD_PRIORITY='20'
IPADDR=''
NAME='IBM PRO/1000 MT Mobile Connection'
NETMASK=''
NETWORK=''
