Well the lower bounding is not the reason for an "out of sync call" of your monitor. sax will use 30Khz as lowest value because of the VESA standard. I assume a problem with the upper bounding. If you don't mind could you check out the latest version from here: ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/sax/head-build/suse-10.0 I have in mind that this one has been fixed there.
